Val (Valeriy) Nikitin is principal and founder of Val Nikitin Design. With an
architect’s sense of proportion and understanding of color, shape, and
materials, and the European sensibility he brings to all his projects, Mr.
Nikitin reinvents each living space into a signature interior. His attention to
antique, vintage and modern furniture, and contemporary pieces makes his
interiors spaces of beauty and functionality.
Born in the Ukraine, Val (Valeriy) Nikitin, who received his Master
architecture degree from the Kharkiv National University of Architecture and
Construction, relocated to the United States in 1993 making New York City
his home. His early career in the US included working as Project
Architectural Designer with Sills Huniford Associates, the prestigious interior
design firm with a high profile clientele ranging from members of the
Rockefeller family to Vera Wang and Tina Turner. During his tenure there
he also worked on hospitality projects including the renovation of fivestar
hotels, the St. Regis in New York and Washington, D. C. and the Connaught
in London. As the principal of Val Nikitin Design, he has worked on residential and commercial design projects with international clientele. The projects ranged from Manhattan landmark townhouse to private residences in Zurich and London to restaurant in Berlin.
Mr. Nikitin’s work has been featured in various magazines and books on
architecture and Interior design, and is most recently featured in Elle Décor.
